Here's a little more information for you about some of the exciting events at the IAMPETH 76th Annual Conference: 2025 Norfolk, Virginia! There is something for everyone.
 
It's been a joy to plan and find ways to deepen our pursuit of both this art and the community we all hold dear. The IAMPETH conference is such a special time and I simply cannot wait to see you all in July. I'll save you a spot on the beach!

ALL MEMBER ART SHOW: Accepting submissions accepted April 15 - May 30
One of the favorite events at the IAMPETH conference is the members' exhibit. This year, we are expanding this event to include all members–you do not have to be in person to participate! Open to all skill levels, this art show is a celebration of our calligraphy community.
 
Our membership body will create calligraphy pieces around the same topic and all submissions will be displayed at the conference. This will be a beautiful event that honors the work of our members. Everyone is encouraged to share their work - from beginners to advanced calligraphers, cursive writers to broad edge scribes, gilders to sketchers. IAMPETH is an encouraging and supportive space that welcomes work from all members. More information about theme categories and logistics are in the conference booklet.

CLASS AT THE BEACH:

It wasn’t enough to have a conference on the waterfront. We had to make a beach visit too! Andrew van der Merwe will join us from South Africa for a small class that starts at the beach for drawing in the sand and ends at the conference center to connect the whole body movement with writing. Transportation will be provided.
